Dr. Lara Mabry

Dr. Lara Mabry

Dr. Mabry received her B.S. degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Alaska, Anchorage in 1994. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 2006. She returned to Alaska to practice with her father, Dr. Phillip Mabry, in his practice that was started in 1977. From an early age, Lara learned the benefits of giving back to her community, specifically the disabled population that she met during her years volunteering for Alaska's first Equine Therapy program, Special Olympics Alaska, and various other organizations. Today, as a dentist who provides her specialized training to adults with disabilities and who require a hospital setting for treatment, she is one of the select few such professionals to do so within the state of Alaska.

She is past president of The Anchorage Dental Society, Member of the Special Care Dental Society, Member of the Special Care Dental Association, Fellow on the Council of Hospital Dentistry, fellow on the Council of Dentistry For People with Disabilities, member of the International Association for Hospital Dentists, member of American Association of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry, sits on the board of directors for Special Olympics, Clinical Director of Special Smiles (a division of healthy athletes for Special Olympics.) Dr. Mabry has affiliations at Providence Alaska Medical Center and Alaska Regional Hospital.

Dr. Alex DeYoung

Dr. DeYoung is originally from a small town in western Pennsylvania where he obtained a B.S. degree with honors in Molecular Biology. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013 where he was a coordinator for Missions of Mercy in Virginia. He attended an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency through Lutheran Medical Center, based in Juneau, Alaska where he expanded his knowledge of all aspects of dentistry. After graduation, he worked for Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium in Haines and traveled throughout Southeast Alaska to provide dental care to more remote areas. After moving back to Pennsylvania for a couple years, he returned to Alaska and is grateful to spend time with his wife and their two young boys in the beautiful state of Alaska.

Dr. DeYoung has had an interest in medicine from an early age and is the first of his family to obtain a doctorate. A combination of biology, mechanics, and detail work led him into dentistry where he has continued to grow and seeks education in all aspects. He prides himself in the highest quality work and enjoys bonding with people and helping others. He is a member of the Alaska Dental Society, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. DeYoung has a love for anything outdoors and enjoys spending free time, fishing, hiking, hunting, skiing, and being with his new family.
